Day 1 – Arusha

We depart Nairobi City for Arusha and you spend the night at a hotel of your choice at an extra cost. Arusha is the safari capital of Tanzania and is a main tourism centre being the gateway to the Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Arusha National Parks, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 2 – Lake Manyara

After breakfast, we drive to Lake Manyara National park where we have our picnic lunch at the campsite and then proceed on an afternoon game drive. Regardless of the direction we approach Manyara from, the view is always fantastic. This shallow, alkaline lake is at the base of a dramatic escarpment giving it a beautiful and serene setting.  In addition to this peaceful setting, Lake Manyara’s main attractions are its rich bird life, tree climbing lions and its hippos.

Day 3 – Serengeti

After breakfast we drive to the great Serengeti National Park viewing game enroute. Serengeti is Africa’s most famous and Tanzania’s largest park covering 14,736 sq km and is adjoining with the Masai Mara National reserve in Kenya.  With a wildebeest population of about 2 million and several other hoofed species (which include zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, impala, topi, Grants gazelle, Kongoni, Eland, Kirk’s dik dik, klipspringer, roan, Oryx, oribi, waterbuck, buffalo, giraffe and warthog), it is sure to attract a string of prey such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, golden jackals and bat eared foxes.  We overnight at Seronera Campsite.

Day 4 – Serengeti

Spend the whole day game viewing in the Serengeti with a break for lunch at the campsite. Dinner and overnight at Simba Campsite.

You can visit the park all year round but there is less game in the park during the dry season – July /October, where they migrate to the Masai Mara in Kenya.  During March to May the herds move in search of grazing to the southern section and in May to June, they move towards the western corridor of the park.

Day 5 – Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge

Wake up early for a morning sunrise game drive returning to the camp for breakfast.  We then proceed towards Olduvai Gorge with picnic lunches viewing game en route. It is here where humanoid bones and fossil foot prints have been found dating back to over millions of years.  Dinner and overnight on the edge of the Ngorongoro crater; Simba (Lion) Campsite (very cold night; but you will enjoy breathtaking views of the crater below).

Day 6 – Ngorongoro to Arusha

After an early breakfast, we descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a morning crater tour with picnic lunches. In the afternoon we drive back to the bustling Arusha town where we spend the night at the campsite.

Day 7 – Arusha

Depart for Arusha National Park after breakfast for a game drive with packed lunches. This small park brags obvious views to the continent’s highest peak (Kilimanjaro), a number of striking lakes, a stunning volcanic crater, as well as a fine variety of great mammals and birds. We drop you off at a hotel of your choice in Arusha at an extra cost.

Day 8 – Nairobi
